PROCEDURES WHEN APPLYING FOR A NAMIBIAN
VALIDATION
|
| Radio Test |
The test will take approximately one and a half
to two hours. The client will be briefed on all the necessary
information after which a short exam will be written. The radio
test is free of charge and the Technical book is obtainable
at the Pilot Shop at a current rate of N$ 75.00.

| Check Flight |
A grade two instructor is lawful to complete the
check flight. Due to a shortage of instructors the clients should
have a set date and time of arrival preferably a month in advance.

Applying for
a
Namibian validation |
After the radio test and check flight have been
completed, all necessary forms and documents should be handed
in to the Division of Civil Aviation (DCA) for completion of
the Validation. Current validation rate is N$ 130.00.

Last three pages of the logbook
with a short summary of all the hours flown and the hours
on the different types of aircraft.
Copy of a valid Pilots License
Copy of medical (in English)

Obtaining a validation will take approximately 1 hour. We would
however advise the guests to overnight in Windhoek for the first
night in the event of any delays.

INSURANCE
|
On top of the hourly rate for the aircraft an additional
premium is payable by the client and will vary according to
the recorded hours flown by the client. The clients have the
option to get coverage at a minimal fee enabling the client
to merely pay the excess amount in the event of any accident
or any damage caused to the aircraft. The excess amount will
vary from aircraft to aircraft usually varying between N$
15,000.00 to N$ 20,000.00.

SAFETY PILOT
|
When the client decides to take a safety
pilot or in case of any uncertainties the following will apply.
Wings over Africa may insist on a safety pilot when they are
not satisfied with the quality of flying or in the event were
a check flight was failed.

N$ 260.00 per hour (minimum of 2 hours
per day)

N$ 110.00 per day

Please note: Pilots meals and accommodation
is excluded and should be settled by the client.

NAMIBIAN AIRPORTS COMPANIES FEES
|
All the landing fees and passenger taxes
should be settled directly at the following airports: Hosea
Kutako (Windhoek International), Katima Mulilo, Eros, Ondangwa,
Rundu , Oranjemund, Keetmanshoop, Walvisbay, Swakopmund and
Luderitz.
Please note that some private airstrips will also charge a minimal
fee (depending on the itinerary).

CHECK FLIGHT

| All check flights are commenced through
an instructor and the costs should be settled directly by the
client. |
MEDICAL VALIDATION
|
Validating a valid medical will be N$ 150.00.In
the case of a medical renewal the costs will be N$ 550.00.
